Categories in Algebra, Geometry and Mathematical Physics
Conference in honour of Ross Street's sixtieth birthday
July 11-16 2005, Macquarie University, Sydney
The recent explosion of applications shows a clear tendency for category theory to become a universal language for algebra, geometry and mathematical physics. To maximise the benefits of this potential it is crucial for category theorists and experts in the above fields to collaborate more closely than ever.
Having in mind this major goal we are organising a conference with the title Categories in Algebra, Geometry and Mathematical Physics. The main purpose of the Conference is to bring together mathematicians from different fields who use category theory in their work, in order to discuss new directions in category theory which emerge from recent developments in algebra, geometry and mathematical physics, as well as to discuss new applications of category theory to these areas of mathematics.
